Hi, my name is Samuel Gao and I recently graduated from Sydney Boys High School (2025) with an ATAR of 99.45. In my last 2 years of school, I consistently ranked in the top 10% of my cohort and ranked 1st in my Chemistry Trials leading into the HSC exams. It generally goes along the lines of opening a 500 page textbook, reading chunks of text that are difficult to understand, then completing an array of boring comprehension questions that don't truly test your understanding of the content. If you currently see yourself in this situation, then this is where I can help. Coming from a similar background, the key to understanding scientific concepts properly is through teaching not only with words but also images. By using diagrams, visuals, and intuitive explanations, I make abstract ideas much easier to grasp and remember. Instead of just reading definitions, we’ll work through examples visually and logically so everything actually clicks. Mathematics (Ext 1 and 2) 🎲 Maths can be a truly daunting subject where concepts may feel impossible to grasp. One look at the mathematics data sheet will overwhelm any new student. Similar to a maths exam, the key to scoring better in your maths exams is building from the ground up. Understanding the basics is key before moving onto more difficult questions. As your tutor, my role is to help you break mathematics down into manageable, logical steps so it no longer feels intimidating. We will focus on strengthening your foundations first, ensuring you are confident with core concepts, formulas, and methods before gradually tackling more complex problems. By approaching maths in this structured way, each new topic will feel like a natural extension of what you already know, and you'll no longer feel intimidated by those 3-4 mark questions near the end of your exams.
