About
Hey there!
My name is Josie, and I'm currently studying at The University of Western Australia. Even though my degree is called the Bachelor of Philosophy, do not be fooled - my majors are actually Japanese and Korean!
Throughout high school, I studied super hard, especially for Japanese: Second Language ATAR. Thanks to this, my highest marks were 94% on my Year 12 mock written exam, and 100% on my WACE practical exam. And after continuing studying Japanese in university, as well as experience as a Japanese Language Assistant at a high school - I am confident in my abilities in teaching Japanese at the high school level.
I believe my teaching style to be collaborative - I try my best to facilitate a learning environment where you can best learn languages. From my experience, languages are best learnt through practice and making mistakes. So, after demonstrating and explaining the content, I will always try to ensure you can put the Japanese into practice. After all, languages are meant to be spoken, written, and more importantly, understood - not just concepts in our brain.
As your tutor, I will put you and your learning first, and will do anything in my power to help you learn new grammar, vocabulary, and just get a more well-rounded understanding of Japanese. Furthermore, I will try and extend your skills - teach you new, important, and useful Japanese which you may not learn at school.
Thanks for reading! I am looking forward to meeting you.
