About
Warm and approachable tutor specialising in Years 7-10 Maths
Hi, I'm Gaby! I believe that learning doesn't have to be boring and always serious, and that the most effective learning happens when you have fun along the way :)
I have a unique blend of warmth and empathy plus a knack for problem-solving. As someone who used to be a shy kid, I know the importance of having someone patient and understanding as I slowly grew comfortable with them - this is what I want to offer my students as well! I believe that you learn better when you're taught by a teacher/tutor you feel comfortable with :)
Tutoring style and experience:
My tutoring style is to help you reflect on your mistakes, understand where you didn't quite get it right the first time, and experiment with a different method that works. This facilitates a deep and thorough understanding of the Math concepts we're learning.
I started tutoring my friends and classmates when I was in high school. I helped them in-class and outside when they were struggling with homework, on a daily basis. This continued during my uni studies, when my friends would ask me for help with our coursework and making sense of uni assignments. I've found that tutoring helps me solidify my knowledge in a particular area, and I feel fulfilled when my friends get an "Aha" moment after my explanations.
Fees:
- $60 per hour (term-based commitment)
- $70 per hour (PAYG)
Note: I have indicated that one of my tutoring locations is home visits, which means a public space (for example in a public library). I don't do in-home visits. My go-to public libraries are Gordon Library, Lindfield Library, St Leonards Library, and Stanton Library, but I'm open to requests for other public spaces.

Gaby helped my friends and I a lot with uni maths and made topics that I struggled with much easier to understand. She’s very patient, clear, and really good at explaining things. What makes her especially great is she picks up what people don’t understand very well and tailored the explanation accordingly. I wouldn’t have gotten through some of my courses without her help. Highly recommend!

Gaby really helped me with my high school Math. High school math is a bunch of number problems with lots of sentences and pictures, and I really can't figure out how to answer them. But Gaby helped me approach them from a different perspective, making them much easier to solve. Her problem-solving skills are really remarkable, and she taught me with such patience. I believe she can teach anyone effectively, as she always adjusts her explanations to match the student’s level of understanding.

Character references
I have known Gaby for several years now. It is genuinely an understatement to say she is qualified to tutor high school mathematics. With a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, she possesses a strong analytical foundation and an exceptional ability to break down complex concepts into clear, approachable steps for students.
What truly sets her apart, however, is not just her academic expertise but her character. She is one of the kindest and most genuine people I know. Her decision to pursue a Master’s degree in Counselling reflects her deep commitment to helping others and supporting them through their challenges — academically and personally. Students will not only learn from her, but they will feel seen, supported, and encouraged.
Gaby is patient, thoughtful, and incredibly dedicated. Any student would be lucky to have her as a tutor, and I recommend her wholeheartedly.
