Having graduated from Sydney Girls High School last year, I am very familiar with current HSC expectations. I also have two years experience from tutoring junior students at Sydney Girls. I break down exactly what markers look for and show my students how to improve their writing with clear, actionable steps. I have the experience and resources to ensure my students develop consistent, band 6 writing skills across essays, creatives and short answers. English tutoring shouldn’t feel like another classroom. You don’t need someone to reteach you the text you’re already studying. You need someone to look at what you’re actually writing, give line by line feedback, and show you how to improve it. That’s what makes my tutoring different. I don’t just give you a previous state ranking essay and tell you to write like it. Without understanding what makes an essay effective, reading a high scoring example won’t automatically help you improve. Instead, I show you what a 20/20 version of YOUR sentence looks like, and how to adapt your writing style to achieve the same. My sessions are structured more like consultations than conventional tutoring. Rather than asking questions to check whether you’re listening, I help you recognise exactly where you feel unsure and encourage you to ask the questions you actually need answered. When I ask you to write, it isn’t just for practice. I use your writing to see your thought process and pinpoint exactly where you're struggling. No more mind blanks. No more guessing what the rubric wants. No more copying someone else’s “perfect” essay and hoping it works. I have extensive exemplar essays, scaffolds and state ranking resources that will enable you to master exam technique, refine your writing and be able to write 25/25 essay responses on the spot. The amount of content in legal studies is often overwhelming, but I will guide you step by step to time manage, memorise quickly and maximise your marks.
