IB 42.5 | 98.55 ATAR | Specialist IB Mathematics Tutor
I’m an IB graduate from Trinity Grammar School, where I was the top student in Mathematics AA SL. Having graduated in 2025, I understand the IB inside out and know what it takes to perform at the highest level, especially in mathematics. My focus is not on memorising question types, but on building deep conceptual understanding so students can tackle unfamiliar problems with confidence.
My Teaching Style:
My lessons are concept-driven and structured. I start from first principles, helping students understand why methods work before applying them. I place a strong emphasis on logical reasoning, flexible thinking, and adapting strategies to new contexts. Each session draws on detailed analysis of past papers and markschemes, so students learn exactly how examiners reward method and reasoning. I also encourage exploring multiple solution paths, graphical interpretations, and conceptual meaning, so students develop genuine insight rather than rote techniques.
I achieved a Mathematics trial mark of 153/160. I also scored 16/20 in my Mathematics AASL IA, the highest in my year. This is because my approach—which prioritises ingenuity—allowed me to discover untaught mathematics in my trials, and create new mathematics for my IA. I will use my approach to spark similar ingenuity in my students.
How I Can Help:
Whether you are aiming to move from a strong score into the top band or simply want clarity on difficult topics, I will help you find the most efficient and effective way forward. I support students with content mastery, exam preparation, and IA development, always focusing on understanding that lasts beyond a single assessment. Additionally, I answer my students' questions outside of lesson hours to prevent stagnation in their studies.
