I’m a 2022 Sydney Boys graduate who is currently studying Medicine at UNSW. Math can be a daunting subject — there’s just so much to learn, and it’s not always clear how to make progress and get better. Especially with it being such a relevant subject throughout high school, it can be really frustrating when your hard work doesn’t reflect the marks you were hoping for. Having once ranked 100th in my cohort for math in Year 9, I can say with certainty that I’ve been there. I spent the next three years in trial and error, trying to figure out how to improve and eventually achieved top marks. Now, as a tutor, I’ve been able to pass on techniques and study habits I developed to help my students reach their full potential and get the marks they want. With years of tutor experience, I’ve helped students from a wide range of academic backgrounds improve their confidence and results through lesson tailored to their individual needs. I teach students to think critically and strategically — developing that “sixth sense” for approaching and solving a problem, as well as perfecting exam technique to secure every last mark.
