📘 HSC Maths Tutoring (3U & 4U)
**ATAR: 98.95 | Maths Ext 1: 97 | Maths Ext 2: 95 | Actuarial Studies (UNSW)**
🧩 Maths tutoring that actually makes sense from the ground up
I always used to think getting better at maths just meant doing more questions but Year 12 taught me that real improvement comes from understanding the ideas behind them.
Hi I'm Ornil , and I graduated form Baulkham Hills High School in 2024.
Going into Year 12, I thought success would come from just getting ahead and smashing through practice questions but that only worked for so long. What really changed my results was realising that maths isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing it right. Studying effectively starts with genuinely understanding the content knowing where formulas come from, what they mean, and how to use them with confidence under pressure.
As someone who’s now studying Actuarial Studies, I still use the exact same 3U and 4U foundations every day which is why I focus on building lasting mathematical intuition, not short-term tricks.

🧠 Extension 1 (3U)
For 3U, success comes down to two things:
1. **Understanding first**, not just applying formulas.
2. **Repetition with purpose** consistent exposure to exam-style questions.
We’ll build clarity around the key concepts first, then move to **pattern recognition** through regular practice. I’ll show you how to spot common question types, read question intent, and avoid the traps that make 3U feel unpredictable.
Each lesson includes structured practice, curated exam questions, and worked examples that actually match HSC standards.
---
🔭 Extension 2 (4U)
4U is where maths stops being mechanical and becomes **conceptual**.
You need a 'comprehensive grasp of why' each theorem or formula behaves the way it does not just how to use it.
We’ll focus on:
✅ building a deep, logical foundation in each topic (complex numbers, conics, proofs, etc.)
✅ learning 'multiple approaches' to the same problem
✅ thinking critically about 'why' certain techniques work
✅ developing the 'pattern recognition' that helps you solve unfamiliar, multi step problems under exam pressure
After this stage, practice becomes intentional tackling full papers, high difficulty questions, and refining through feedback.
---
📈 How I Teach
✅ Simplify hard ideas by connecting them back to first principles
✅ Use real HSC and trial exam questions for every topic
✅ Provide structured notes and guided revision sheets
✅ Track progress with personalised feedback
---
🎯 It’s not about doing more it’s about doing it right.
By understanding what you’re doing and why it works, you’ll start recognising patterns, not memorising steps.
If you’re aiming for clarity, speed, and confidence in the hardest parts of the HSC Maths course this is for you.
