I struggled significantly with Chemistry in the first half of year 12: my rank sat in double digits, and achieving a band 6 was getting riskier with each assessment. To turn things around, I had to rebuild my understanding from the ground up. By the end of year 12, I successfully achieved rank 1 in both the second-last assessment and my trials. This experience shapes how I teach both Chemistry and Biology. I focus on identifying gaps early, solidifying your understanding, then helping structure your written answers to maximise marks.
