Hi All, My name is Alice S. and I am an HSC Adv English Tutor with 3 years of extensive experience. In high school, I ranked first in my selective school cohort for English Advanced (96) and achieved a 99.55 ATAR. For two years out of high school, I worked at a premier tutoring firm in Sydney as a senior tutor and produced almost 200 videos lessons for our flagship program. My time there was nothing short of transformative and I am incredibly proud of what the team achieved. I engaged with a wide variety of students, from those gunning for perfect marks to others who, while incredibly intelligent, struggled to break into the band 4 range. In doing so, I refined my teaching skills such that I am confident in my ability to provide value to students on both ends of the academic spectrum. Last year I tutored a small cohort of 3 students. All three achieved an upper band six result, thanks partially to my tutoring but more importantly their willingness to consistently turn up to every lesson ready to learn. Outside of my students, I have noticed the proliferation of LLM’s being exploited to write English essays. While I am more than willing to concede that there is enormous productive potential held in these models, it is concerning to me the marked inability of students to write for themselves. Therefore, in our lessons we will not only revise HSC content but also focus critically on actively practicing writing skills. Due to my limited capacity, I am advertising for a small number of student positions in the 2026 cohort. My rate is $100 /hr.
