About

Let's be honest, be it public or private schools, they both lack the ability to meet actual individual student needs. With public schools cancelling classes or using CRTs due to shortages, or private schools moving to flexible time tables, 2025 will mean less face to face time with actual teachers. I am VIT registered Secondary Teacher, who holds a Masters of Teaching (methods being English, EAL, Politics and HUMS). I also have a Bachelor of Arts and Grad Cert in Linguistics. I have been working as a Teacher and Tutor for almost 10 years, helping students not only with their academic studies, but with their personal development. Being an effective learner is not just about knowing your content! I offer easy and accessible frameworks and supports, that enable every student to become holistically literate and gain confidence in their subject areas. The difference in the way I teach is my feedback style and my ability to idenitfy barriers to learning and help students overcome these. I also work with a small team of specialised tutors, who were not only former students of mine (and as such well versed in my teaching methods and can vouch for how effective my teaching style is), but excelled academically in their content areas. So no matter who you are, or how you like to learn, I can guarantee a good fit. The subject areas covered are English, EAL, ELA, Literature, Politics, Legal Studies, Bio, PE and Outdoor Ed. Maths, Physics and Chem can also be arranged if need be. My rates start from $60 per hour and are on a sliding scale (eg $60 for year 10, $70 for year 11, and $80 for year 12). Price is also subject to change depending on student needs and desired outcome. I offer multimodal styles of learning (ie in person or online or a combination). I also offer discounts for multiple sessions a week, sessions that are longer than an hour, and group sessions. Additionally, I am a Nuerdivergent Learning Specialist and can work with both parents and students around understanding barriers at school and how to better support their children in a mainstream educational setting. I can help inform IEPs and at request, attend SSG (Student Support Group Meetings) to ensure clarity of information between parents and teachers.
