⭐YEAR 10 ENGLISH NOW OPEN⭐UNSW LAW DEAN’S LIST⭐First in English Extension at Baulko⭐Top 10 in English Advanced⭐99.25 ATAR⭐600+ hours tutoring experience⭐Prize-winning filmmaker and screenwriter⭐
Hey everyone! I'm Kabir and I have been tutoring English since I graduated from Baulkham Hills High School in 2023. Some of my HSC marks include: 95 (English Advanced), 96 (English Extension), 96 (Biology), 97 (Maths Advanced). You might also come across my papers if you go to Baulko. I currently work as the Senior English Coordinator at Proficiency Education.
I help students achieve their goals and drive their efforts in a direction that produces results. Past students have achieved up to 99.95 ATAR, Dux of their school, top 10 internal rankings, and 97/100 in HSC externals. I am looking to mentor as many Y12 students as there are people that need help, because I have hugely optimised knowledge about this syllabus that’s better off with you than me :)
2026 is the last year of the current English syllabus. Schools and teachers have perfected their content knowledge, and everyone has access to the best exemplars. The level of competition is unique compared to all years before you.
Because of these factors, it's clear that a true competitive advantage comes from learning proper writing and study techniques. The obstacles are no longer just content but the ability to think and write clearly, the skill of managing time and adapting essays to new questions under pressure, to come up with creative solutions to the question so that you stand out, to feel secure that you will not be held back by a lack of understanding or mental focus. I can teach you how to excel at all of these.
The first thing I share with new students is that I was slapped with a C grade in semester one of Year 10. After listening to feedback from teachers who knew what they were talking about, I clawed my way from C to B, B to A, and finally 2nd to 1st place. Whatever your level is in English, I've gone through it. I know what YOU (yes, you personally) need to do to get ahead and I'm excited to share it with you.
With me you'll get
• EXAM-ACCURATE MARKING: I've marked more than 300 Year 12 papers. I will give all your work a numerical grade out of 20 so you know what you would get if you submitted it at school.
• EXCLUSIVE WRITING TECHNIQUES AND ADVICE: There are right and wrong ways to construct sentences, paragraphs, and even ways of thinking which I will distinguish clearly using examples.
• LIVE EXAMPLES AND Q&A: Students often complain that their teacher can't actually write short-answers, essays, and creatives themselves and have no grounds to teach it. They also feel that their tutor was good at writing in high school but can't explain how they did it. These things are probably true and I empathise with students. I felt frustrated at teachers often in school and have kept my skills sharp to avoid that complaint. Ask about any aspect of the method and I will answer.
From a genuine desire to help Year 12s, I studied and taught the following texts:
COMMON MODULE:
1984 | Billy Elliot | The Crucible | All The Light We Cannot See | The Merchant of Venice | Vertigo
MODULE A:
The Tempest/Hag-Seed | John Keats' Poetry/Bright Star | Richard III/Looking for Richard
MODULE B:
T.S. Eliot's Poetry | An Artist of the Floating World | Emma
MODULE C:
A Home in Fiction | Father and Child | What Time Is It Now, Where You Are | Spotty-Handed Villainesses | Love and Honor and Pity and Pride and Compassion and Sacrifice | Politics and the English Language
(but can tutor any Mod C text)
I have tutored and/or marked for Y12 students from the following schools:

• NBSC Manly Campus
• Penrith Selective

Tutoring will happen online through Zoom calls. As a fun fact, I personally did all of my English tutoring online during high school :) This saves travel time and provides the comfort of home. I know how to eliminate distractions over an online space and secure the productivity of the lesson.

Kabir was my Advanced English tutor throughout Year 12, and without his guidance I would not have achieved a 99.95 ATAR. Before working with him, I struggled to understand what teachers were really looking for in an English essay. While I could grasp the concepts and ideas taught in class, I found it difficult to translate them into essays that earned top marks. Kabir taught me that true success in English requires not only understanding the content but also learning how to structure and present ideas in a way that appeals to examiners.
He is a dedicated tutor who works tirelessly, always making time to provide detailed and constructive feedback. His consistent support and high standards constantly pushed me to improve. Thanks to his guidance, my rank rose to the top 5 in my school, and I achieved a 95 in the HSC external exam. I couldn’t recommend him more highly to anyone aiming for excellence in English

I had Kabir as my English Extension 1 tutor throughout my HSC year in 2024 and achieved a 48/50 in the subject. I highly recommend him to any current HSC students who are aiming for similar results! He was incredibly well-versed with my texts and provided feedback tailored to my needs as a student at Baulkham Hills. Kabir was always incredibly accommodating of my changing schedule as School Captain and flexible with extra lesson times. He also provided support throughout the week outside of our sessions, which made a huge difference in easing the time pressure of Year 12. Kabir’s teaching is clear and tailored to your unique needs, and he’s incredibly supportive!

There are no words that can express how thankful I am for Kabir’s mentoring. From my experience, no other tutors have been able to connect with students’ individual struggles, understand them on a personal level, and guide them to success with such care. Kabir simplifies the concepts of analytical and creative writing in a formulaic way that makes sense for students who approach concepts mathematically. I genuinely had no understanding of how to structure an essay, or write an imaginative writing piece in 40 minutes. A year later, after achieving 20/20 and 25/25 across multiple modules, I have an excellent grasp on the concepts of both English Adv. and Ext. 1, and have run school-assigned workshops to teach my peers. I climbed from rank 152/205 to rank 8/205 at Baulkham Hills High School with Kabir’s support. If you’re a Year 11 or Year 12 student and you don’t know which tutor to stick with, I urge you to do a trial lesson with Kabir!! You will actually feel the difference after the first ten minutes.
