The reason for this was quite simple – I didn't understand anything about the concepts I was learning in any of these subjects, and quite frankly, I had found these subjects boring. However, I soon came to realise that these subjects were only boring because I had no idea what was happening. Many students tend to hate science and maths as a whole because of how convoluted certain concepts may be, which is all the more worsened by having unhelpful teachers. I completely understand the frustration of trying to wrap your head around a concept, only for there to be no progress and no mentor to help. You get stuck, annoyed, and then lose the motivation to continue, leading to a downward spiral where you start to hate the subject and avoid studying it for weeks. But in reality, most people only hate the frustration and difficulty of trying to learn it. Only a few students are able to properly learn and appreciate how enjoyable these subjects can be, and I was fortunate enough to be taught by competent tutors and earn that experience.
