Hi all! My name is Ethan, a 2022 Mansfield State High School graduate studying BEng(Hons.)/MEng. I graduated year 12 with a 98.1 ATAR, specifically scoring a 96 in chemistry and physics and a 95 in biology. Despite finding the subjects interesting, I wasn’t always able to score very high in my subjects. For much of my schooling, I found them dull and discouraging—until the right teachers helped me change the way I approached them. With proper guidance, strategic study methods, and an understanding of how to think like an examiner, I not only overcame my struggles but grew to genuinely enjoy the subject. This shift was instrumental in achieving my high ATAR. Now, I want to help others do the same. I understand what it’s like to feel disheartened by studying, and I’m passionate about making it approachable and empowering for every student. I’d love the opportunity to pass on what I’ve learned, helping students transform frustration into confidence. Consequently, I strive for and emphasize a collaborative approach in my tutoring style- please do be clear about your weaknesses and goals as we can work together to tailor a plan of action that focuses on your strengths while most efficiently achieving those goals. Furthermore, by communicating clearly and frequently, we can also adapt our plan to accommodate any changes. I am not someone who believes in putting in unnecessary effort in studying but rather optimization and critical thinking for best rewards, which is something I know can benefit my students I look forward to seeing you soon!
