Hello! ☺️ My name is Ellie, and over the past six years I have worked as a dedicated tutor in both English and Modern History, helping students achieve outstanding academic growth that they can truly be proud of. I endeavour to instil within all my students the confidence of honing their critical-thinking skills, as well as to complete assessments without the reliance on generative AI (which has become an increasingly contentious topic over my course of tutoring). I am deeply passionate about the subjects that I teach, and aim to evoke the same enthusiasms within each of my students. It is always my goal to make my students finish high school with the confidence and ability to apply their critical thinking to real-world scenarios, as well as instil within them a life-long love of reading (yes, even Shakespeare!). In 2026, I graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Notre Dame. In 2025, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature (with a Distinction average), and came first in my course, receiving first prize on multiple occasions for my achievements. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 To help you get started, I offer the first session completely free of charge, with no commitment required if you find that I am not the right fit for your learning style. Once the trial lesson is completed and if you wish to continue, I charge for the full ten lessons of the term upfront. Given my academic standing and experience, my current pricing reflects one-on-one private sessions. 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 With regard to my background in literary studies, I am not only able to analyse texts quickly and in-depth, but I am also proficient in literary theory, which, when utilised correctly, can bolster your essays and assessments. In my time as a tutor, I have also cultivated a variety of in-depth notes on multiple texts—though, to list them here would be exhaustive!—and I am able to provide extensive help for each module studied. I am competent with all HSC prescribed texts, as well as the texts of the new 2026 syllabus set for study.
