Maths, UCAT & Interview tutoring that makes sense
Hi! I’m an experienced tutor who has worked with high school students across the NSW maths syllabus and the new UCAT.
I’ve been where you are — juggling school, pressure, goals, and a lot of uncertainty. Tutoring has become one of the most meaningful parts of my week because I get to help students move past confusion, feel more confident, and actually understand the content.
Whether you’re aiming to improve your maths marks or prepare for the UCAT, I help students map out a game plan that fits who they are — not just who they think they have to be.
UCAT tutoring (standard and non-standard pathways)
There’s a common misconception that the UCAT tests how smart you are. It does not. It tests specific ways of thinking that can be trained and sharpened.
People often hear “practice makes perfect,” but what really matters is what that practice looks like. It is not about grinding hundreds of questions. It is about building the habits, mindset, and techniques that help you stay calm and in control under pressure.
The UCAT is a test of stamina, confidence, alertness, and strategy.
Together, we design a routine that targets what the UCAT is actually assessing, so each session helps you feel sharper, calmer, and more prepared.
It is not about doing what everyone else is doing. It is about finding what works for you.
My UCAT scores:
2024: 3220 / 3600 (96th percentile)
2025: 2570 / 2700 (99th percentile)
Verbal Reasoning: 880
Decision Making: 790
Quantitative Reasoning: 900
What I actually do (besides telling you to practise):
Create a mapped-out timeline based on your exam date, whether you have months or just weeks
Provide section-based worksheets for each UCAT subtest, with clear breakdowns and examples
Use official-style UCAT questions only — no unnecessary filler
Share study notes and reflection tools to help turn mistakes into progress
Offer intensive support for last-minute preparation
Optional parent consultations with clear guidance on medical and dental pathways (standard and non-standard) and realistic university options
Medical school interviews (MMIs)
The first time I sat medical school interviews, I went in having only revised a few common interview topics and believed confidence alone would be enough. In such a competitive process, that approach was not sufficient.
The second time, I changed my preparation completely. I learned what actually makes a strong answer, how to structure responses for different question types (situational, thematic, and anecdotal), and how to include high-yield content interviewers are looking for. I also learned to recognise the difference between a scattered answer and a clear, well-structured one.
Having always been shy and uncomfortable with public speaking, I followed a structured process to improve my delivery, turning a monotonous style into a confident and engaging speaking voice.
That process worked.
I received offers to study medicine and dentistry from four universities across Australia:
University of New England
University of Notre Dame
University of Adelaide
University of Queensland
I now teach this same process to students.
Whether a student is naturally shy or already confident, I help them deliver the right content, in the right structure, with confidence — exactly what medical schools are looking for.
Interview tutoring includes:
One-on-one medical school interview coaching for standard and non-standard applicants
Personalised interview preparation tailored to your target universities
Structured interview booklets covering delivery, content, and answer structure
A comprehensive interview question bank covering all major medical school interview themes
Coaching on communication, confidence, and thinking under pressure
Realistic mock interviews with targeted feedback and improvement plans
Mentorship throughout the application process, not just interview practice
Support informed by firsthand experience navigating medical school admissions
Maths tutoring (Years 7–12)
My maths results:
Maths Extension 2: 94
Maths Extension 1: 97
Although these results may not show it straight away, I know the feeling of maths anxiety well. Through junior years and even into Year 11, I was stuck in a cycle of average marks and last-minute cramming. I knew I could do better, but I did not yet know how.
Now, as both a student and tutor, I understand that maths is not about being a genius or memorising formulas. It is about recognising patterns, understanding how questions are designed, and knowing how to approach unfamiliar problems under pressure.
That is what I teach:
Choosing the right resources so time is not wasted
Reviewing mistakes efficiently to improve faster
Understanding how exams are built so questions feel familiar
You can know every topic thoroughly, but performance under exam conditions is what ultimately determines results.
Standardised testing does not always reflect potential — but we can learn how to play the game together.
You will also have my personal contact, because support does not stop when the session ends.
