Hey, I'm Angus! I graduated from Cranbrook School in 2020 with an ATAR of 98.60 and am currently studying a double degree of a Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics, and a Bachelor of Finance at the Australian National University. The July holiday is an incredibly important time for students to refine their skills, readings, and goals for the rest of the academic year, and therefore I am offering my private online tutoring service! My marks were: - Geography: 96/100 (Ranked 1st) - Economics: 94/100 (Ranked 1st) - Modern History: 94/100 (Ranked 1st) - Drama: 93/100 (Rank 2nd) - English Advanced: 94/100 (Rank 8th) After countless redrafts on essays and time-pressured past paper attempts, these marks were achieved through a deep and analytical understanding of what HSC markers look for - and ultimately reward. After tutoring high school and university students for over 5+ years, both privately and with a company, I have developed a holistic teaching style, shifting to the needs of each individual student upon careful consideration of what they are struggling with. This is all underpinned with an in-depth focus on the syllabus dot points and required learning outcomes. With humanities always being my strongest subject field, I’m able to succinctly communicate to students how they can improve - especially with essay writing, source analysis, as well as short answer techniques to stand out to HSC markers. I am able to mark essays & past paper exams, as I have undertaken hundreds of hours personally going through written responses with teachers and mentors (who are HSC senior markers), so I know exactly what teachers are looking for. I have a range of sources full of extra stats, analysis, graphs, and marked responses to help model a student's essay. I can further assist in creating essay plans to help kickstart and assess the core ideas of the topic. I can also teach exam performance skills, and in-test time management. I am a friendly and easy-going guy, who is able to successfully communicate with anyone and will truly care about the students' academic performance and journey to improve their marks.
