📚 ATAR 98.85 📚 GPA 7.0 📚 UQ MED 📚 Hello! My name is Grace and I am currently studying medicine — however, I secretly am best at (and passionate about) English and Philosophy. I graduated Brisbane State High in 2020 with an ATAR of 98.85, and my best subjects were English Literature (95), Philosophy (99), and Biology (95). I finished my undergraduate degree in Clinical Science at Macquarie University last year with a GPA of 7.0, in which I did electives of Writing and Grammar as well as Philosophy of Happiness, Goodness, and Justice, the latter of which which I received the highest achiever award for. I am now studying a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Queensland, and am also happy to give advice about entry into medical school. Teaching-wise, I understand how having a kind, empathetic, and engaging teacher or tutor can make-or-break a student's relationship with a subject, having run-on impacts for their university, life, and career choices. I want to nurture that relationship with the subjects I love – English, Philosophy, Biology – and grow someone's confidence not only in doing well in school for those subjects, but in communicating, in reasoning, in understanding who we are – skills that we need everyday. My tutoring strategy is to both help students wrestling through assignments and exams by understanding what schools and assessors are looking for for top scores, yet also placing content within the bigger picture.
