I have been year 11 & 12 math & physics private tutor for 2 years. One of my students had their average grades in physics risen from 50+ to 75+ by now. Another one had his math risen from 60+ to 85+. I always had the highest rank in my science subjects when I was in school. I won multiple olympic awards for math in school while I was in China.
I have 2 tutoring routes to meet most students' needs in their math and physics.
1. Foundations building & quick scores boosting.
I would guide the student through all basic required concepts and theories to help them have cognitive understanding of the material that would be assessed. I develop formatted problem-solving and writing steps or techniques for most questions the student would face in their assignments or exams. The student would have generalised methodologies and clear writing style towards all types of questions required in their assessment. Moreover, I help with their I also guide student to write basic technical reports.
2. Advanced skills teaching
If the student is competent in basic knowledge taught in class, the tutorial would focus on introducing advanced problem-solving techniques by walking through hard questions with them. The tutorial would also require the student to derive some equations and theories they learned in class such that they have a deeper understanding of those. It will further boost the grades by some extent. But mostly, it bridges the student to tertiary studies and provides more knowledge of the real world practice of the taught subjects. Most importantly, being able to do hard questions is effective confidence boost for students that they would have higher passions in learning the subjects.
