I am an experienced science teacher and tutor from the UK, now living in Sydney. I can help students build confidence and fill knowledge gaps to increase their understanding and enjoyment of science and other subjects. My teaching and tutoring style is based in educational research. Students will take an active role in their learning with lots of opportunities for retrieval practice and regular repetition of key concepts. I pride myself in creating a relaxed and positive learning environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and therefore can maximise their progress. I have experience working with students with special educational needs including dyslexia, ASD and ADHD and can adapt my teaching style to accommodate students needs. I am happy to be lead by students to address their areas of weakness, help with specific homework or upcoming assessments or deliver a planned programme of learning in-line with their curriculum. I have a current NSW working with children check.
