ATAR: 91.6 G'day, I'm Henry Morris, a recent Year 12 graduate and passionate tutor. I primarily focus on essay writing and language, particularly in English and History. I am also a talented singer who is eager to offer vocal coaching. Last year I achieved top band results in HSC Ancient History (96/100), Extension History (47/50), and Drama (89/100), as well as second-highest band results in Advanced English (89/100) and English Extension 1 (43/50). I am currently in the first year of a Bachelor of Arts at The University of Sydney, double-majoring in History and Film Studies. I also chose to take Ancient History elective units (currently: Foundations For Greek and Roman History.) For HSC students, I primarily target their essay writing skills in English and History, teaching them how to incorporate evidence and use appropriate essay structures in order to meet the marking rubric. Moreover, I focus on instilling an advanced control of language and grammar, in order to make student's essays more presentable. My goal with younger students is to teach the key fundamentals of essay structure, and then propel their writing skills to a level beyond that of their peers. I am also able to help students who are struggling to understand course content, particularly in complex extension subjects. I am a classically trained vocalist, who has studied works encompassing Lieder, Opera, Musical Theatre, and more. I have performed as a soloist, as well as in choirs, including large festival groups such as the 2023 Australian Combined Schools Music Festival: Perth Choir. I can teach the basics of vocal control and support, as well as music from a variety of genres including classical repertoire, musical theatre, pop, rock, jazz, and more.
