About

HI! My name is Stephen and I am in my 3nd year in Law (Honours)/Commerce (Finance) at Monash University, currently residing in Mannix College (Monash University Residential College). I graduated from St Kevin's College in 2022 with an ATAR of 96.25. I am happy to be offering 1-1 and group tutoring sessions in 2025 both online and in person at Monash University Library in Clayton for Economics, English, Mathematics or Legal Studies students looking to boost their study score! How can I help? I understand what it’s like to be a student stuck in the VCE system, and how overwhelming it can be just to keep with the constant barrage of assessments and examinations. And having this mountain workload combined with possibly an underwhelming amount of assistance and guidance from your teachers can be frustrating. I aim to use my experience and success in VCE and AMEB to help alleviate some of this stress for my students and guide them towards better results and achievements. Alongside this, I teach and have approached all subjects very methodically, understanding that Economics is a content heavy subject and the hard part with these subjects is not simply knowing the content... but fulfilling the demands of the questions the SACs and Exams presents you. As your tutor, I will guide you through the strategies I utilised to maximise my scores, targeting a high understnading of economic concepts where you can easily manipulate your knowledge to best suit the demands of each question. This strategy has been proven useful with my 350+ hours of tutoring experience over the past 2 years with students achieving either Dux and 45+ study scores placing them in the top 1-2% of their respective subjects. I have tutored 20+ students from a variety of different schools. I have penchant for writing-intense subjects; hence, a pursuant into a Bachelors of Law. Alongside enhancing my tutoring sessions with my tertiary-level writing skills, I hold extensive experience and practice, having tutored 300+ hours in the past across a vast range of texts in VCE English. Moreover, I scored 57/60 in the English final. What do lessons look like? * Lessons can occur with small group sessions or private individual 1-on-1 online through Zoom. * I understand that every student’s approach to learning is different and so I tailor my lessons towards each specific student in a way that maximises their success. * Lessons are aimed to be very engaging and collaborative having both of us working together to achieve your potential. * There is nothing like preparing for the exam then actually doing exam simulated lessons, going through tailored, tough and guaranteed questions that will pop up in the exam. * There is no better feeling than when before you walk into the exam hall knowing what will be on the paper and what to write before you begin reading time. Why will my tutoring benefit you? * Free 30 min pre-tutoring consultation * 24/7 support via call or message regarding work, study advice or preparation. * Sessions are tailored to your needs, concerns and goals with planned or spontaneous (at your discretion) lesson guides through the year. * Exam tips and strategies to ensure you reach as high as possible * Practical exam strategies that will maximise your performance * In depth knowledge of each knew knowledge point on the study design * Access to a library of helpful resources I used and created to maximise my scores. (Course notes and self-made textbooks, past exams from a wide range of companies, top-scoring essays, quote and analysis spreadsheets and more) * Lots of practice questions and detailed feedback/solutions Music: With music, I have a wide range of experience spanning from leading and participating in many ensembles and choirs to solo performances and competitions, both domestically and internationally, receiving many awards from these. I have achieved A.mus.A (with distinction) in Piano and A.mus.A in Cello. I am now currently preparing for L.Mus.A for both Cello and Piano. I have much experience learning under teachers from Yale University, ANAM, University of Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, Monash Univeristy and much more. I will help students prepare for exams, competitions, performances by helping them build a solid foundation of technique, musicianship and musicality that they can rely on moving forward. Scores: - 44 in English - 44 in General Mathematics - 44 in Mathematical Methods - 42 in Economics - A.Mus.A (Distinction) in Piano (2021) - A.Mus.A in Cello (2019)
