My name is Jack Martin and I am studying a Bachelor of Science/Masters of Engineering at the university of Melbourne and speak French fluently. I went to Canberra Grammar School and took the IB (International Baccalaureate), achieve a score of 41 (equivalent to a 97.5 ATAR). French: I am a fluent speaker of French, having grown up in Geneva (Switzerland) from the ages of 5-9, as well as attending a bilingual school for 4 years afterwards in Australia. I also achieved a 7 in HL French B in the IB. I can help with any area of French, whether it being speaking, writing, listening, grammar, or comprehension. I also believe that the best way to learn and maintain a language is simply to immerse yourself as much as possible, which means speaking it as much as possible. Because of this, I will try to encourage the student to speak French as much as they can throughout the lessons (of course they are allowed to speak English if they want), as I find this is the most important part of learning a language. Science and Maths: I have always loved maths and science, specifically physics and chemistry, and I am now taking both of these subjects at University. I also achieved a 7 in all of 3 of these subjects in the IB (7 being the highest mark in any one subject). I have always been a strong believer in the idea that the best way to learn and improve, especially in maths and science, is to do as much practice as possible. Because of this, my main teaching style will be getting the student to attempt lots of questions, and helping them work through them while understanding the different concepts involved. I am also quite easy going, and understand that the easiest way to learn is when you feel comfortable, don't feel too stressed or worried. My lessons will be online, and I am very flexible with times. A lesson would also usually last 60 minutes.
