Hello! I'm Jonathan Roost and I attend Cornell University (Ivy League). I am studying in the SC Johnson School of Business with a minor in Real Estate and Computer Science. I am in Perth for the next 3 months and I'm excited to tutor whilst I'm here! I graduated from Christ Church Grammar School in 2023 with a 98.30 ATAR. I took Mathematics Methods, Mathematics Applications, Chemistry, Literature, Business Management & Enterprise and Economics. During Year 12 I was the Captain of Soccer, Captain of Mock Trials, Captain of Moyes House, a School Prefect, on the Debating Committee and in the Drama Committee. Alongside the likes of Model UN and public speaking, I played soccer at a semi-pro level in 2024 and thoroughly enjoyed tennis, volleyball, AFL and soccer throughout high school. I thoroughly enjoyed the rigor of high school, in particular Year 12, and believe that it is the perfect environment to grow academically, socially, emotionally whilst maturing in a comfortable environment. I have been tutoring students of all ages, ranging from Year 2 students to Year 12's as well as adults in university. I have experience tutoring neurodiverse students as well as neurotypical students and thoroughly enjoy connecting with students. I think the mentor role is as, if not more important, than the role of an academic tutor because I believe students will achieve greater success if they are working with someone who they respect and have a good relationship with. As a tutor, I can teach content and fully explain subject matter whilst simultaneously helping students fill in gaps or answer any questions they may have. I can teach Maths, Enlglish and Humanities subjects for students up to Year 10 and Mathematics Applications, Mathematics Methods, Literature, English, Economics and Business Management & Enterprise for students in Year 11 and 12 studying those WACE ATAR subjects. I am flexible with the time and location of tutoring sessions, whether it's 1 on 1, in a group, in-person or online. I'm happy to meet at Reid Library, located at UWA or other libraries around Claremont or Cottesloe.
