Hello! My name is Gianna and I am a Reception – Year 12 English, History and Literacy-based subject tutor for Secondary and Primary students. I graduated Year 12 from St Michael’s College with a 97.75 ATAR in 2017 with outstanding results in English Literary Studies, History, Music, Research Project, and Creative Arts, and have worked as a professional tutor for 5 years. Having worked for a professional tutoring company, I have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the course content in these subject areas and confidence in helping students achieve their academic goals! I have recently graduated from a Masters degree in Music with excellent results, as well as a first class Honours, which involved receiving top marks in both my Honours thesis and Masters thesis. My academic work in secondary school and university are still today used as helpful exemplars for future students in essay and exam writing. As a tutor, I am extremely passionate about understanding how each student learns best, wanting to help students increase their academic confidence. As a young student myself, I strongly benefitted from private tutoring to assist with my education and believe that it certainly prepared me for academic and career success! My teaching style is centred on support, clarity and setting clear academic goals that can be transferrable in school, university and workplace environments! I encourage critical thinking and helping students find solutions to any challenges they may come across in their learning. This includes helping students create flexible study plans and incorporating effective time-management strategies, which have helped my students consistently achieve significant improvement in their marks. I prioritise creating an engaging and focused learning environment, as well as having an excellent rapport with all students. I strive to help students be the best that they can be and specifically tailor each session to each students’ unique learning needs.
