Hello, I'm Ethan, currently looking to tutor high school English up to and including Year 10. I'm currently completing a Bachelor of Law, alongside a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in accounting). Having spent three years working in the professional services industry, I have developed outstanding written communication skills. This is further supplemented by the skills developed in my studies, which allow me to form cohesive arguments, and present them in a concise and clear manner. My teaching style aims to help students develop these same skills using a flexible approach. I believe in tailoring my teaching style to meet the needs of each individual student. I understand the struggle of staying motivated and maintaining a high level of achievement throughout high school, and hope to help students experiencing the same struggle I faced during my time. I understand what it takes to take academic results to the next level. Having struggled in English through to Year 11, I found motivation to succeed in Year 12 and was able to improve drastically in this subject, ultimately achieving a Band 6. They key for me was to take a different approach than I had been throughout most of my schooling years. By approaching the problem in new ways and finding creative solutions to motivate myself and master the curriculum, I was able to excel. I hope to assist students in a similar position who are struggling, but hope to improve their marks. In my HSC, my best subjects were Mathematics (Extension 1 & 2), Modern History and English, all in which I achieved a Band 6 result. The common thread of all of these subjects is the simple process of being faced with a problem, finding a creative argument or solution to overcome this problem, and presenting your findings logically and in the most persuasive way possible. This simplified approach continues to drive my success in my studies, and my professional career.
