I have tutored high school students for more than 40 years, hence have a wealth of experience. I have tutored mainly in the maths & sciences fields as I am a qualified electrical engineer who has taught at university for more than 30 years.
I have also taught at all year levels of high school. My main driver for tutoring is that light bulb moment when a student gets a concept, and we then build on to that. I charge a range of fees starting at $80 per hour for years 7-9, $90/hr for year 10, $100/hr for year 11 & $110/hr for year 12.
My main method of helping students learn is to find out about their interests and then try and use analogies from those spheres of life. I find that students relate well to this method and tend to retain the information, thereby leading to lifelong learning.
