Hello!!
My name is Mairead (pronounced like ‘parade’ with an M). I am a university student from The University of Sydney, studying Genetics and Biology, having graduated high school in 2023.
I am a very keen tutor, having done years of French, Math, Chemistry and English tutoring myself throughout high school. I understand that each student’s needs and wishes are completely unique and am conscious to attentively personalise each session to each individual.
During the HSC I was internally ranked 1st in French continuers, 1st in Music 1, 2nd in Maths Advanced and 2nd in Maths Extension 1.
In 2024, I spent 6 months living in France, attending a French immersion school in the Loire Valley, with the hope of becoming fluent. By November I had succeeded, attaining a C1 level through the official DALF French language exams in November! As such, I would love to offer French tutoring and conversational classes to all students - beginners and continuers.
As a person, I am cheerful, creative, and dedicated to learning. I think that one of the best things that a tutor can do is to simply be an encouraging voice, helping the student to build up both skills and confidence to allow them to succeed in their work.

I can help with music theory and I can offer piano lessons. I have the piano level equivalent of AMEB grade 8.
