State Rank + Showcase Extension 2 English 🌟 99.50 ATAR Hello! My name is Bella, and I am in my second year of my Bachelor of Laws/Arts (English major) at the University of Sydney. I graduated from Wenona in 2024. I love tutoring English - the opportunity to share my love for the subject, and help students improve, genuinely brings me so much joy. My credentials are as follows: 🌟 Ongoing studies in English at a university level. 🌟 English Extension 2: State rank of 9th in NSW, scoring 50/50 on my feminist, fictocritical major work. I was also featured in the 2024 Young Writers Showcase. 🌟 English Extension 1: Ranked 2nd and scored 48/50. 🌟 English Advanced: Ranked 5th and scored 96/100. 🌟 1st in Year 11 English Advanced and in Year 10 English. 🌟 All-rounder merit list, for achieving a band 6 in 10+ units of study. 🌟 I also love debating. I coach, and have represented my university internationally I have been tutoring consistently since I graduated, and have helped 10+ students substantially improve their results in Modern History, EAL/D, English Standard, English Advanced, English Extension 1 and English Extension 2. I have tutored across a wide range of ages and abilities, and know how to tailor my lessons to individual student needs. Through tutoring, I hope to share my confidence in and passion for English. I won’t write your essays for you - this would prevent you from learning the adaptability you need to succeed in exams. However, I provide copious notes, exemplars and practice questions to help you get started. Then, once you’ve had a go at writing, I will provide annotated feedback, with editing suggestions to ensure your textual and contextual analysis is the best it can be. We can also work through time management and exam techniques, so you feel adequately prepared for assessment tasks. A frustration that I often experienced in high school was that my teachers had too many students to provide each one with enough individualised feedback. I hope that having me there as an additional resource will ensure you get the advice you need to feel confident in exams. I am flexible with timings, and I am happy to adjust the frequency/length of lessons approaching assessments. I’ve studied a large array of high school texts either at university or when I was in high school, but I’m also keen for the opportunity to read and learn about new ones!
