Hello! My name is Ece [pronounced Edge-eh], and I’m an experienced secondary school English and History teacher with a Master's in Education from Harvard University. I did my undergraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, UK, and graduated with a Master of Arts (w. Honours) in English Language and Literature.
I am originally from the United States of America but now live in Canberra. I specialise in all areas and levels of English and various types of history, including World, European, American, and Ancient History. With over a decade of experience working with students—and the last five years dedicated to classroom teaching—I am passionate about helping learners develop a deep understanding of concepts and improve essential skills like writing. I can also offer support in reading comprehension, essay writing, research projects, and understanding complex historical topics.
My teaching approach is flexible and tailored to each student's needs. I like to do activity- and project-based learning, encouraging creativity and critical thinking. I believe in building practical skills rather than relying solely on memorisation, ensuring that students understand the content and apply it confidently.
Whether you're struggling with English or history classes, need help organising your writing, or need advice when applying to international universities, I’m here to support you. I aim to make learning engaging and meaningful while helping you achieve academic success. Let’s work together to build the skills and confidence you need to excel!
