As preliminary exams were coming up I knew I needed to get into better habits, especially with year 12 right around the corner, and so I began my studying journey. Studying at first felt pointless. I was ranked average for most of my subjects, and was annoyed at myself for feeling stupid and not seeing progress. Nevertheless, I knew I had to stick to my studying plan. As prelims came around, I discovered the secrets of discipline, practice, and exam technique which ultimately led to significant improvements, as I came 1st in 3 prelim exams. This was a massive improvement compared to my previously average results. Going into year 12, I knew I had to apply the same techniques, effort, and discipline so I could achieve not just average, but significantly high results. During year 12, I saw major improvements compared to previous years, ending on an average rank of 2.4. The secret to my improvement? Learning fast, getting ahead, disciplined practicing, and exam style questions with help from mentors. These are the foundations of my tutoring style which have helped and will help my students to achieve their dream results. 💎 Here's Why I Am An Effective Tutor 💎 1️⃣ Communication - Tutoring isn't just about being extremely smart and getting a high ATAR, because being smart means nothing if you can't communicate your methods. I have worked with countless piers and have learned to differentiate my teaching style and communication based on various needs and levels of understanding, making my tutoring extremely effective with fast results, as I make my methods clear and easy to understand. 2️⃣ Care - I genuinely care about all my students and their results/success. Unlike tutoring companies with many students, I am personable and able to have significant impacts on my students because I spend more time on them and truly am interested in their achievements. This care allows me to realise individual students' strengths and areas of improvements, wherein I tailor my tutoring style to fit their needs. 3️⃣ Resources - I have a great deal of resources including exam questions, study notes, worked answers, and papers which are a major help in maximising test results. I filled over 10 workbooks during year 12 with my study material and resources, and this was a massive component to my results. 4️⃣ Study Secrets - Throughout year 12 I learned the tricks to studying effectively, allowing maximised test performance and information retention. These secrets help my students outside of my tutoring, giving them a constant advantage over their piers to improve internal rankings. 💎 Pricing and Other Details 💎 ⚫ Year 7-10 - $50/hour for any Maths and English ⚫️ Year 11/12 - $60/hour for Engineering, Maths Advanced, Maths Ext1, Maths Ext2 ⚫️ Availability - I am available most days and times. Please contact me via the button for further discussion and details regarding session times. ⚫️ Sessions - Generally sessions are 1 hour per subject. I am flexible and happy to do 1.5 hour sessions if the student wants more tutoring, and am also happy to group sessions together, i.e. a 2 hour sessions covering Maths Ext1 and Maths Ext2. 💎 Common Concerns 💎 ⚪️ Payment - I accept payment via bank transfer. This is generally done weekly in case a student wants extra tutoring sessions which often occurs around exam periods. ⚪️ What Classes Contain - Lessons start with general questions from school or homework. Afterwards, we get into content and questions that will be in upcoming tests. This consists of some textbook learning, as well as exam questions from my resources. Generally, I encourage my students to get through this syllabus content quickly, so we can spend more time on exam style questions. This is the bulk of my lessons, as exam questions are the best way to learn and get an idea of what will come up in tests. ⚪️ Tutoring Outside of Sessions - I am happy to answer any questions outside of designated session times and get back to students ASAP. I genuinely care about my students and am invested in their success, so of course I happily answer any questions outside of sessions free of charge. ⚪️ Finishing Syllabus - I try to finish the syllabus content before each test as quickly as possible so the student can maximise time spent on exam style questions. However, I am flexible and know that each student is different, and some may need to spend more time on the fundamentals, so time taken to finish the syllabus varies on student needs. ⚪️ Good Students For My Tutoring - There are absolutely no requirements for my students. I do not care about current results, rank, or school.
