About
99.80 ATAR | 2nd Year Medical Student
Hey! I’m currently a 2nd-year medical student offering HSC tutoring for Mathematics Advanced, Extension 1 & 2, English Advanced, Physics and Studies of Religion II.
A little about my academic background:
🏆 99.80 ATAR
🩺 2nd Year Medical Student
📐 97 - Mathematics Extension 1
📐 94 - Mathematics Extension 2
📝 96 - English Advanced
📚 96 - Studies of Religion II
⚛️ 93 - Physics
🧠 92nd Percentile UCAT
1520 SAT’s
But my marks aren’t the main reason I think you should choose me as your tutor.
There are plenty of tutors with great marks. There are plenty who can give you polished notes, model answers and even a 20/20 base essay.
I want to teach you the skills that got me those marks in the first place.
Take English Advanced.
I didn’t get a 96 because I happened to memorise an amazing essay and got lucky with the question.
I got a 96 because I knew how to answer questions.
By the end of your introduction - and, more importantly, your thesis - an experienced HSC marker should already have a strong indication of the Band your response belongs in.
Your thesis tells them whether you’ve actually understood the question. It tells them whether you can formulate a sophisticated argument rather than regurgitate memorised ideas. The rest of the essay then has to prove that first impression through your analysis, evidence and structure.
That’s what I teach.
I want my English students to walk into their HSC knowing how to:
• Deconstruct virtually any question they’re given
• Develop a sophisticated, question-specific thesis under exam conditions
• Adapt their prepared material rather than forcing a memorised essay onto the question
• Understand what HSC markers are actually looking for
• Build analysis around an argument rather than simply stacking techniques and quotes
• Turn their knowledge of a text into marks
Many of my past students have achieved 90+ in English Advanced and have felt extremely confident going into their externals, and I can help you do the same!
And I apply the same philosophy to Maths Advanced, Extension 1 & 2, Physics and SOR II.
Knowing the content is only part of doing well in the HSC.
You need to know how questions are constructed, what they’re actually testing, where students commonly lose marks, how to approach unfamiliar problems and how to perform when the exam doesn’t look exactly like the practice questions you’ve done.
That’s the skill I want to develop in my students.
My goal isn’t to have you think:
“I hope the exam asks something I’ve seen before.”
It’s to have you think:
“Whatever they ask me, I know how to approach it.”
If you’re aiming for a Band 6/E4, trying to push an already strong mark into the top range, or feel like you understand your subjects but aren’t getting the marks to show for it, I’d love to help.
