Hello VCE Biology students, I am taking bookings as a specialist VCE Biology tutor for 2025. I cater to the full range of student abilities! I can be a mentor and gently encourage each student to adopt a solid work ethic, and deepen their key knowledge understanding, and ability to analyse and evaluate. I have been a passionate VCE Biology teacher for over 33 years. I have taught at four highly ranked independent schools over my career with leadership roles including Head of Science and VCE Biology. I am semi-retired, however, still retain my specialist teacher role at a prestigious and top ATAR-ranked school. I have a deep understanding of the 2022-2026 Study Design (VCE Biology 1-4 classes) I am an experienced and engaging online tutor, presenting great interactive lesson notes, visuals, animations, and review focus questions.I am expanding my tutoring availability times in 2025 so I should be able to cater to student preferred times. I accept the following types of tutoring 1) weekly one-on-one online tutoring 1 or 2 hours 2) Group online tutoring (2hrs) Sun 2 -4 pm every second week - (up to 3 students from the same school) Tutoring is truly rewarding. It is a great opportunity to 'unpack' key knowledge and develop a meaningful understanding. My approach to tutoring is to make it interesting, get the student to comprehend, analyze, and evaluate key knowledge, allow the student to ask questions, AND encourage students to rehearse processes, outlines, and definitions. I come resourced with my own tailored review focus questions for each Area of Study, daily practice challenge problems, AND my own lesson notes. Wait there is more....I have notes with exemplar examples of outlines like CRISPR, Trp Operon regulation, AND vocabulary definitions of all the 'buzz' terms I also like to start every lesson with a Biology joke...here is one for your enjoyment. I have been tutoring many online students either individually OR in groups of 2 or 3 from the same school, proven to be very economical for the student. 1 student = $150 2 students from the same school = $120 each, 3 students from the same school - $100 each Qualifications Tertiary level Science Degree, Diploma of Education, employed VCE Biology specialist (33 years), Biology tutoring (20+ years) Attended annual VCE Biology STAV Conferences and Professional Development events at GTAC (Gene Technology Access Centre) Rates $100 is based on group tutoring of 3 students from the same school. Normally, students will create their own small school group and then book me as their tutor. Group tutoring is very economical and has worked really well academically with students 'bouncing' off each other's understanding.
