Hi there! I'm Elle. I graduated from Perth Modern School in 2021 with an ATAR of 99.90. This has allowed me to study as a Chancellor's Scholar at The University of Melbourne, with guaranteed entry into MD. I have since completed a Bachelor of Biomedicine, as well as a Diploma in Mathematical science! While I embarked on my journey to pursue medicine (including UCAT and MMI preparation), I wasn’t ready to leave my love for mathematics behind at the end of Year 12. To keep building on my maths skills and keep them sharp, I chose to undertake an additional diploma in mathematics alongside my undergraduate degree. This allowed me to balance my diverse academic interests, and I’d be happy to share insights into how I managed this balance. I have several years of experience in tutoring, helping students build confidence in challenging concepts and catch up in their classes. I also work with more advanced learners seeking to push their limits and explore their full potential. I enjoy tutoring because it gives me the chance to explain concepts in creative and unique ways, often connecting them to real-life applications that highlight their relevance. I also use metaphors and abstract thinking to help students build memorable frameworks for understanding and retaining key ideas. Additionally, I would be happy to share some study strategies for different subjects that have helped my succeed academically along the way, and see if we can adapt them to help you as well!
