About

Expert Maths Tutor | 15+ Years of Experience | 99.45 ATAR | 3 University Degrees | Free First Lesson | Cheaper Rates for Younger Students | Special Offers Available Hello! I’m Harrison. In my time as a maths tutor, I’ve had the privilege of teaching hundreds of students from all over the world. Maths is my passion, and tutoring maths is my dream job. As a full-time maths tutor, my priority is the education of my students, and I go above and beyond to ensure they succeed. Unlike a typical classroom, my students don’t receive recycled explanations. I adapt my teaching style with a range of methods tailored to each individuals specific needs — taking the time to understand how they learn best and adjusting my pace accordingly. I encourage active participation and open feedback to keep students comfortable and engaged, and I offer extra lessons during exam and SAC periods to provide support when it’s needed most. My flexibility, attention to detail, and ability to connect with students are what set me apart. COMPLIMENTARY SERVICES With me as your tutor, no question goes unanswered. If a difficult problem can’t be solved during a lesson, I’ll provide a clear written or video explanation before the next session. I’m committed to thorough support, so lessons don’t end abruptly when the time is up — we work through the problem at hand as completely as possible, even if it means running slightly overtime. I also understand how frustrating it is to be stuck and have to wait an entire week for help, which is why I encourage students to reach out between lessons. I respond promptly — typically within a day or two. This level of ongoing support is something many tutors and agencies don’t offer. PRICING AND OFFERS The first lesson is free and runs for one hour. Ongoing lessons are available online via Google Meet or in person at my classroom in Mornington. • $65/hr: Grades 7 to 10 • $75/hr: Units 1 and 2 • $85/hr: Units 3 and 4 • $85/hr: University Level - Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations • $65/hr: University Level - Proof Writing, Number Theory, and Abstract Algebra Lessons have a minimum duration of 60 minutes, with any additional time scheduled in 30-minute increments. Students are welcome to take breaks whenever needed throughout each session. SPECIAL OFFERS Clients who refer a new student will receive a free 1-hour lesson once that student has completed a paid lesson. This can be a valuable way to save tutoring costs while helping friends gain access to educational support. • $65/hr: 2-hour session • $55/hr: 4-hour workshop • $45/hr: 6-hour bootcamp • $35/hr: 12-hour weekend bootcamp • $60/hr: 1-hour video recording • $50/hr: 1-hour written explanation • $40/hr: 1-hour group session (2+ students) Video recordings and written explanations cater to students who enjoy learning from clear, annotated notes or prefer a self-paced learning environment. Students who are too busy or too anxious to attend live tutorials may find this style of learning to be more natural and effective. TEACHING STRATEGIES Every student learns differently — there is no “one size fits all” approach to success, despite how often this is overlooked in maths education. Over the course of our lessons, I make it a priority to understand each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles, and continually refine my teaching approach as required. My approach combines several key strategies: identifying gaps by reviewing a student’s current material, guiding them through problems to uncover underlying patterns, reframing concepts to make them more accessible, and using visual tools to strengthen understanding. Together, these methods help students build clarity, confidence, and a deeper grasp of mathematics. EXPERIENCE I’ve studied a Bachelor of Software Engineering, a Bachelor of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering, and a Bachelor of Information Technology, developing a strong ability to break down complex concepts and communicate them clearly to students with diverse learning styles. My teaching career has centred on teaching mathematics to Australian high school students, covering topics from Algebra and Calculus to Probability, Vectors, and Statistics. I particularly love teaching Specialist Maths for its depth and alignment with university mathematics. CLOSING I'm proud to have achieved such a high level of mathematical understanding, but it certainly wasn’t done alone. I’ve had a number of excellent tutors throughout the years, and I've learned so much from these amazing people. They've proven to me that putting in consistent time and effort truly pays dividends. Allow me to guide you — as my tutors have guided me — and together we will navigate the turbulent world of mathematics. With me by your side, I have no doubt you will continuously improve and exceed your expectations. Thank you for reading, and I look forward to seeing you in class.

I was tutored by Harrison in Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics. His teaching was very engaging. I am very thankful to him for helping me all the time. I continue now with mathematics at university because of Harrison.

This guy helped me so much. I needed maths to get into the degree I wanted to do but I was failing hard. Harrison turned that around for me in year 12 and I finished with great marks in Spesh Maths and Methods.

Harrison tutored me in Further Maths. I wasn't much of a fan of maths but he made it really interesting and I got a good mark that landed me in a good uni. Thanks mate!

I was absolutely lost when it came to maths in year 11. I barely past Methods. But in year 12 Harrison put everything in perspective and showed me an inspiring new way of looking at maths. He deserves a big thank you for my Maths Methods 3&4 grade.
