I'm Michael, a final year Master of Mechatronics Engineering student at the University of Melbourne. I graduated from Haileybury College with a 98.15 ATAR in 2020! My VCE scaled study scores were: English – 43 Specialist Mathematics – 47 Mathematical Methods – 46 History: Revolutions – 43 Psychology – 39 Physics – 40 I've been tutoring for the better part of five years, and it has genuinely become a passion of mine. Having been fortunate enough to learn from some incredible teachers throughout school and university, I've come to appreciate just how much of a difference the right mentor can make. My teaching philosophy is centred around developing a genuine understanding of concepts rather than simply memorising methods. Every student learns differently, so I tailor my explanations to the individual and adapt my approach based on how they think and the questions they ask. As a student myself, I always valued teachers who could recognise exactly where I was getting stuck and explain concepts in a way that finally made them click.
