Hello! My name is Sri, and I am currently a high school Mathematics teacher - my passion and long time dream career! With nearly a decade of teaching experience across various age groups from preschool to Year 12, I bring a wealth of knowledge and proven techniques to my tutoring sessions. Having taught at over four government schools, two private schools and tutoring centres since 2015, I have developed a deep understanding of what educators look for when assessing students. I have written and marked numerous exams and served as an assessment coordinator for various year groups at schools. This experience allows me to provide valuable insights and strategies to help students excel in their studies and perform their best, regardless of their mathematical background or learning difficulties if any. I take pride in my organisational skills, communicate regularly to parents and maintain a positive and professional learning space for students to thrive in! What I've Studied I finished high school in 2012, and then completed a double degree: Bachelor in Secondary Education and Bachelor in Science (major Mathematics). Both were completed at Macquarie University in 2018. During my university studies, I was also the President of the Macquarie University Mathematics Society - you can tell I really love my Maths!! Teaching Style My teaching style is engaging, personalized, and adaptive. I believe in understanding each student's unique learning needs and tailoring my approach to help them grasp complex concepts with ease. With one-on-one tutoring or small group tutoring, this is certainly within my expertise and I believe is the best way to learn Mathematics. My preferred location for tutoring sessions is my home as I have a collection of resources available at arms reach to the students' advantage. In extraordinary circumstances I'm able to consider coming to your home for a small additional price. I may be able to meet in agreed locations (e.g. public libraries and schools) where facilities are suitable. I heavily use my iPad which allows me to use a range of interactive applications to visually demonstrate mathematical concepts as well as being able to organise all of the notes with my tutoring students for them to access at home. Whether you're struggling with specific subjects, need help preparing for exams, or want to improve your overall academic performance, I am here to guide you every step of the way! UPDATE (Apr 2025): I am currently pregnant and spots are extremely limited as I don't want to be promising tutoring when I need to take leave! Alternatively, my husband who has a background in tutoring and a degree in Science (Mathematics and Physics) will be tkaing over for me, at a discounted rate. :-) My current rates are the following. Year 7 (one-on-one, 1 hour per week): $60 Year 8 (one-on-one, 1 hour per week): $70 Year 9 (one-on-one, 1 hour per week): $80 Year 10 (one-on-one, 1 hour per week): $90 If more time is required per week, I am happy to discuss that with you to figure out what is suitable.
