Hello! I graduated as a HSC student in 2023 and am currently studying a double degree of law and international security studies at the Australian National University in Canberra. Throughout high school my best subjects were English and History as my academic strengths have always been clear communication of ideas, reading and writing comprehension, and forming persuasive arguments. I received the top bands in Advanced English, Extension 1 English, Modern History and History Extension, and so was mentioned four times in the HSC High Achiever's List 2023. In my Year 9-10 and 11 ROSAs I also received A marks for English and History subjects. I have years of experience coaching children in gymnastics and past volunteer work as a literacy tutor of the MacLit reading program at PLC Sydney. This experience has enabled me to practice giving feedback in an effective and considerate manner as well as adapting to the unique learning needs of individual students. My teaching style can be described as encouraging, adaptive and student-centred. I believe in order to motivate students and nourish their self-confidence, feedback must be delivered alongside praise of students' pre-existing strengths and of their efforts to learn. I believe in encouraging students to build their own ideas and arguments on a subject, and offering assistance in further developing their ideas to increase sophistication and clarity, in order to encourage a personal voice and creativity in each students' work.
