- +20 years teaching English in England, Victoria and Queensland - VCE English - QCE English I offer ONLINE tutoring to support students to reach their potential. My aim is to build a student's confidence along with their English ability to help improve their study scores. I want students to feel empowered to apply their learning both in the classroom and beyond year 12. I have had great success teaching VCE and QCE English including a number of perfect study scores. - Previously, Co-Director of English at Westbourne Grammar School, Melbourne for five years - VCE English examiner - Teaching and tutoring online experience - Currently, teaching English at St Andrew's Anglican College, Sunshine Coast - QCE English examiner Before committing to tutoring, I offer a complimentary 30 minute 'Meet and Greet' Zoom session where we will discuss your current attainment, strengths and weaknesses, targets, texts to be studied and any concerns you may have. Parents are welcome to attend and there's no pressure to proceed. The objective of the 'Meet and Greet' is to ascertain if my methods and your ambitions align.

I had the privilege of learning from Clare on multiple occasions during my time at Westbourne Grammar school. She never hesitated to spend the time after hours reading through essays and creative writing pieces. When in her class her approach to the classroom was energetic and interesting holding the attention of struggling and disinterested individuals in the last period of the day. She was extremely well renowned by both teachers and students which was obvious to the school. In her explanation she would phrase and explain feedback differently with each student. Her tailored by individual approach meant it was quick and easy to learn and improve, which was addicting and made me study and work harder. Clare was detailed in her feedback and fair in her marking, enabling you to have the best chance of improving. I can’t recommend her talent and skills as a teacher and tutor enough, any place of work is lucky to have her as an addition to their team.

Clare tutored my son who responded really well to her teaching style. She was warm, engaging and good humoured which enabled my son to relax and actually ask questions that he was otherwise concerned to ask in class. She has a remarkable ability to make complex topics understandable. Her clear explanations made a significant impact on my son’s learning. She is super patient and has a manner of delivery which my son found to be very reassuring. I highly recommend her.

I worked with Clare as co-director of English at Westbourne Grammar in Melbourne for five years. She is not only knowledgeable about English and educational practice, but she is also focused student learning. She has the ability to quickly diagnose a student’s strengths and weaknesses and design lessons that address weaknesses while building on strengths. All of this is made even more effective because her warm and genuine manner ensures strong relationships with her students. I highly recommend her as a tutor.
