Hello! My name is Luna and I graduated John Monash Science School with an ATAR of 97.80. I am studying Veterinary Science at University of Queensland. I have had 5 years of tutoring experience in the past. Both working with High school students and younger students going all the way to prep!
High school is undoubtedly challenging, beyond just having to learn the content and complete SACs for VCE, you will also need to balance your social life, extra curricular activities and apply for university in your final year. Being a recent graduate, I can fully symphathise with you, having the balance my social life, leadership position, extra curricular, part time job, being a primary care giver of the family and studying was one hell of a load, however I made it through and got into the course I wanted and have learnt many skills along the way. Which I am ready to share with you!
During my time in and out of school I have tutored many students from primary school to secondary school. I will use that experience to offer you the best tutoring experience I can provide, with personalised learning, engaging classes, extension activities and so on. Most importantly, I will be someone who can help guide you along your schooling journey, I can be your go to person to ask questions about subject choices, study skills, university applications, school troubles, anything you feel is important to you. I don’t just want to get you through school, I want to help you THRIVE, so that when you look back, you can be proud of yourself!
Unlike many, I was determined to balance my extra curriculars during my VCE journey and ultimately earning a platinum diploma at my school, which is given to the top 1% of students who have shown commitment to extra curricular activates recognised by the school. Beyond that I also looked for opportunities to extend myself including: becoming a member of Monash Engineering Girls, volunteering at RSPCA, making it to worlds with my FRC team, attending the International Science Fair in Adelaide, joining SheCommerce, and completing NAB work experience just to name a few. So if you are in doubt of how to extend your interest, or just want to get more experience and are not sure where to go, I can definitely lend you a helping hand.
