About
Hi, my name is Arun. I graduated from Narrabundah College, ACT, in 2023, with an ATAR of 99.90 and I am currently studying Bachelor of Medical Science (Provisional Medicine) at Griffith University under the Chancellor's Scholarship. In years 11 and 12, I undertook double maths, physics, chemistry, english and the ANU Physics Extension Program, which has content equivalent to first year university physics.
As a tutor, I tend to emphasise the importance of "learning" the subject as opposed to "studying" the subject, which I find that many students accidentally fall into the trap of doing. This especially holds for year 11 and 12 students, who may understandably become more focused on "acing those exam questions", often turning to rote learning or memorisation as a result. (which can easily lead to getting stuck on the more difficult questions, not knowing where or how to start) Instead, by building a strong foundation from focusing on the underlying concepts and by thoroughly understanding them and their applicability, "acing those exam questions" tends to follow naturally.
I am happy to tutor in Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Physics or Chemistry up to a year 12 standard on either a regular or an occasional basis. I am especially experienced at teaching physics, having previously taught electromagnetism (with and without calculus) and quantum physics during my year 12. I am confident that I can teach the subject from the most basic of basics upward.
