My name is Sharan, and I'm currently a first year student undertaking Bachelor of Laws + Bachelor of Security Studies at Macquarie University, with a passion for teaching, specifically in English. Fueled by my informal role as the designated writing editor amongst my friends (something I secretly loved), we can work together to ensure that you, as a student, reach all your academic goals and targets, whilst still having fun!! Having previously tutored younger students, I understand the importance of optimizing content to each student individually, as each student is individual - where the school system often fails. As such, all first sessions will be used to identify the strengths, weaknesses, and goals of the student, whilst introducing key content. Sessions will be: ➡️ One hour, however can be lengthened based on needs of student. ➡️ Begin with a discussion of the current content covered at school, and their progress. ➡️ Homework will be assigned, however will not always be mandatory (I understand the commitments of high school students). ➡️ Feedback on any schoolwork/assignments/homework will always be provided. ➡️ I will be available by email/text for any urgent questions, especially before assessments. Having only graduated late last year, all HSC content is still fresh in my mind; having all necessary resources and familiarity with the syllabus + past paper structure - alongside a specific focus in English. Throughout my high school career, I have excelled in the subject, from consistent first ranks and placements in Gifted & Talented classes to my HSC results; and will ensure the same successes for you, through: 🥇Ensuring the student has strong foundations in basic writing skills, of paragraph + essay structure, vocabulary and fluidity. 🥇A breakdown of the syllabus and its requirements as a means of writing structure: something often overlooked in school teaching. 🥇Constructing a strong, distinct writing voice, to be distinguished from other students whilst retaining succinctness. 🥇Reviewing past papers + feedback to build upon the common mistakes of previous English cohorts. 🥇Emphasis on consistent engagement with writing/texts beyond the subject, to maintain English skills.
