About

Hi there! My name is Mike. I'm in my third year at Monash University studying Commerce and Politics, Philosophy and Economics. I graduated high school in 2021 and completed my VCE in the height of COVID. Truth be told, I know how it feels like to struggle in your personal and academic life, and I imagine that you may be struggling right now too, but you don't have to go about it alone. How I see my style of teaching is a mix of both academic support and mentorship, because I don't just wish to see you succeed academically, I want to see you succeed in your personal life too. While there may not be another COVID (*touch wood!), life will throw you obstacles that you'll never seen before, but that doesn't mean you can't be prepared for it. Thus, I hope to prepare you with tools and lessons that I've learnt from my own mentors and experience, to give you the confidence and resilience you need, regardless of how hard times get these days. As for my best subjects and marks - I did the best in ENG (41), ECO, (46) BIO (42) and CHE (39), all of which are raw scores. With that being said, I don't offer BIO or CHE as I don't do it now in my university life anymore! Let that be a lesson to you all that you are more than just your study scores~ A lot of what I do in my sessions is primarily giving feedback and guidance. With subjects such as ENG, EAL and ECO, I guide you through ways to remedy your areas of improvement, discuss through ideas and core concepts, and give feedback where there is practice work. Where I do subjects that are more binary, such as Maths, my job is, but not limited to, helping you understand the primary concepts, as we go through the prescribed questions that your teacher has given or extra questions that we are able to find. Most importantly though, reach out! Whether this be me, anyone on this site or elsewhere, if you're struggling, you don't have to do it alone and there are people who genuinely care for you and want to support you. Remember that!
