I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Education (Secondary) at UNSW. I'm offering HSC Mathematics Standard tutoring for Year11 and Year12 students. I've always enjoyed Mathematics, and I'm keen to foster this enjoyment for other students: My teaching style focuses on minimising student weaknesses, and capitalising on their strengths! Every student is unique and has different difficulties comprehending mathematical concepts - I'm patient, and I carefully work through challenging areas to ensure students are confident for exams and assessments. I can specifically refine time-management skills; by my own HSC period I was able to do a full HSC exam paper for Mathematics in 1hr, less than half of the given time. Through studying a Bachelor of Education at UNSW, I can ensure my tutoring won't simply be regurgitating information; rather, I will TEACH my students - I can create engaging sessions for students that effectively clarify complex concepts, and being a young adult myself, I can be personable and relatable. My mode of tutoring is online as I'm able to quickly and readily present students with practice questions, type step-by-step working out in laTEX format, and easily provide a multitude of digital resources: I have a variety of teaching resources that I personally used throughout my own HSC, and concept-specific notes/explanations for students to use. I make personalised PowerPoint presentations for every session, and these are readily available to the student afterwards. Students are able to contact me with questions outside of tutoring hours, or send questions they'd like an in-depth explanation on in our tutoring sessions. Sessions last one hour.
