I specialise in tutoring French🇫🇷, English 📖, and History🏛️. I can help you with French conversation skills, and across all three, proofreading, essay writing, and revision for exams.
📚 What I Offer:
Knowledge Building: Learn & revise key topics with confidence.
Practice & Preparation: Feel ready for any assessment piece, exam, or real-life French conversation!
Personalised Feedback: Improve confidence, assessment grades, essays, and oral presentations.
Flexible Learning: I am happy to do online or in-person sessions!
In my current degree, my studies focus on political theory, international relations, development, and conflict resolution, so I'm an enthusiastic tutor for political studies too!
Why me?
I'm conversationally fluent in French, and have studied French since I was 13 years old. I just came back from a 6-month exchange program in Lyon, France, where I studied completely in French at Université Lumière Lyon 2. Having recently lived in France, I love to chat in French and keep up my conversational skills, but I am also very familiar with studying French as a second language in Australia. I received an overall A in French towards my ATAR, and got 24/25 in my external exam. In university, I have completed most units in the Advanced French stream. I have studied the complexities of French grammar (passé simple!) and literature, so I'm keen to help with reading comprehension, grammar, and writing. While in France, I led conversational English groups for French students. For all of 2024, I was an Education Officer for UQ's French Society, where I conducted weekly 'Quoi de Neuf' conversational French sessions. I'm now the society's secretary!
In high school, I studied English (93/100), Ancient History (93/100), Art (91/100), as well as French, psychology, and general mathematics. In my current university studies, I achieve either 6s or 7s across all of my courses (6.5 GPA).
Grades aside, I understand the benefits of having a tutor that really works with you to ensure you understand something. Maths was never my strength in high school, but I had an amazing tutor who helped me during my final two years of math, and this changed my entire outlook on maths AND the grades I received. My experience as a student being tutored showed me how to be a supportive tutor for students in the future. I am passionate about ensuring that my students feel confident to not only understand what they have been taught, but be able to apply this knowledge critically and creatively. I always make sure that I work with the specific learning methods of each student- it’s so important to work to your strengths! I love finding new, engaging ways to teach and collaborate with students, to ensure that they gain a sense of confidence with their knowledge, but also so that they have fun too.
I can meet with students whenever suits them best! Please feel free to send me a message and we can chat further to organise sessions.
