About

Hi! My name is Charlie, I'm an exchange student from the United States studying Engineering at UNSW. I love math and physics and I want to help you do well in those subjects while learning to love them as much as I do! I offer one-on-one in person sessions where I can help students develop a deeper understanding of topics, work through tough homework problems, and review notes and ideas from class. I specialize in breaking down difficult concepts into more manageable chunks. In my opinion students can really excel in math and physics when they understand the why and how of things at a fundamental level, so that knowledge is what I specialize in helping students understand. While I focus on physics and calculus tutoring, but I am able to help with all levels of high school math and science or SAT prep. As an American student who did well on the SAT I understand what is necessary to do well on this test. I scored a 1490/1600 on my SAT, a 5/5 on the AP Physics C Mechanics exam and 5/5 on the BC Calculus exam, the later two of which are notoriously difficult SAT Subject Tests. In terms of my studies, I graduated at the top of my class in high school, and am studying Engineering at Boston College (although at the moment I am here in Australia for 6 months taking courses at UNSW). My high school GPA was 4.46 and my current university GPA is 3.97. I also have prior experience as a private tutor in the United States and volunteer as a teaching assistant. Please reach out if you're interested and I will get back as soon as I can!
