No matter how hard I tried in English, I just couldn't improve my ranks and marks. I was losing hope and my mental state was struggling because I knew how important English was as a contributor to my ATAR. Until I met Sophie. She was like a saviour that came down from the sky; I'm not religious, but she truly was my Jesus. When I saw Sophie's reviews, my first thought was, "She charges so little and yet her students perform that well? That's preposterous!". When I experienced her teachings first hand, it just all made sense; Sophie was like a gem in the mines that I had discovered. She boosted me from rank 113 to rank 15 and made my confidence come back. Sophie is an amazing English tutor for Advanced and Extension 1 who really made me enjoy English as a subject! :D She always made time to answer any questions and provide feedback, even late at night (especially last minute before an assessment) and was super flexible with scheduling. Sophie helped me greatly improve my creative and analytical writing in English - so I actually understood HOW to produce good pieces. It's really hard to find a good tutor for Extension 2 English, but I'm so glad I found Sophie. She gives me the creative freedom to develop my own conceptual focus and create something very personal to myself, but at the same time her guidance in my ideas is invaluable. She helped me choose the form to best accomodate my ideas and has been working with me to constantly refine my major work. She also is thankfully very flexible with all my units of english, and I am able to book lessons for Advanced and Extension 1, and Extension 2 when it suits me best. Because of this, I feel comfortable with deadlines and building a schedule that is most effective for me, and I truly appreciate how much Sophie tries to accomodate for that. So far, I've gotten full marks in all my internal assessments for Extension Two English, and am ranked 9th and 12th for Extension 1 and Advanced English respectively. I'm so grateful for all the help Sophie has provided me to get me this far.

Before I started tutoring with Sophie, I was really struggling with English. I seriously had no idea how to approach essays or how to improve my writing. But Sophie broke down complex concepts into simple explanations and her feedback was really constructive and tailored to my needs. I would always get low A range or B range marks in Year 11 but in my first year 12 assessment after I worked with Sophie I got full marks! She was really really supportive and even had a lesson with me late into the night before my exam because I was super stressed. Something I didn't really get from tutors that I tried before is the constant feedback; Sophie responds to my questions super quick and gives detailed comments on my docs that are similar to what Ruse teachers say. Sophie was an excellent English tutor. She was really nice and her explanations made the essay-writing process much easier by first helping me brainstorm conceptual ideas and then finding the best quotes to link the argument together! Right before my exam block she also gave really detailed feedback outside of lesson time which helped me polish my essay for my Task 1 and I ended up doing really well. Would really recommend Sophie as a tutor!
