Hi, I'm Chris. I just graduated from Trinity Grammar School in the Class of 2023, having undertaken the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Although I have achieved a high all-rounded score, my particularly strong subjects are Maths and Physics. My Extended Essay on Maths received an A and I have undertaken HSC Year 11 Extension 1 Maths in the accelerated Year 10 class. Upon receiving an academic-unconditional offer from the University of Cambridge in Computer Science (starting October), I decided to use the break between now and then to experience uni life temporarily at UNSW, as well as taking this tutoring job.
I understand from experience that being of value to others is extremely rewarding. In the numerous occasions where I helped out my IB peers, I have received positive feedback about the way I explain maths problems. This inspires me to continue doing so in the form of tutoring, even though my time in Australia is limited. I believe that in the many months I have, I will be a valuable resource to all of my students, especially those in Year 12 IB or Year 11 taking Anticipated courses, as I will be available for the trials and any IAs.
In becoming my student, my goal will be to maximise my value for your success, whether that be focusing on your weaknesses or preparing specifically for examinable content. I will encourage you to bring up any areas that need work and raise questions. In my own time, I am available to mark any practice efforts from you, or read your past assessments to help determine topics of focus for our lessons. In particular for IB students, I can read your Maths and Physics IAs, both on a superficial level to check for calculation errors, as well as give my best advice regarding structure and other criteria.
