Hi! I'm Antra, a private English tutor, offering tuition for students in years 10-12. With a multitude of experience teaching students from K-12, I am able to build strong relationships with students, creating a supportive and comforting environment for them to thrive and develop their English skills. I graduated in 2022, with an ATAR of 93.25 (Band 6 in English and SOR I), and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Psychology (Hon). My experience with the NSW English curriculum allows for tutoring specializing in fundamental literary skills and genres, alongside a particular emphasis on what a marker may be 'wanting' in assignment and exam environments. With experience teaching students of all ages, I am primarily offering English tutoring for students in years 10-12 (tutoring for younger students may be available upon inquiry), helping develop essential and foundational skills, to ensure a strong base for further growth. On the other end, I help prepare students for preliminary and HSC examinations, finetuning their critical analysis and creative skills alongside general time management and exam strategies. I believe all students can prosper in English, provided they have a strong foundation to build upon, with a good grasp on essential skills in analysis and creative writing. I aim to implement the 'growth mindset' into students, encouraging them to learn, question and try again as many times as they may need. I strive to foster a very comfortable, supportive and engaging environment, in which class is catered to each student's individual needs, both in terms of content, as well as teaching style and approach. I focus teaching how to approach specific common question types, essay and creative structures, identification of literary techniques and their impacts, as well as catered help for students' individual needs and prescribed texts. Furthermore, I don't believe progress is reflected in marks alone, an increase in confidence and competency is a great indicator of whether a student is learning and growing in their skills. As such, while I do aim to improve marks themselves, I also have a focus on the journey to improving the marks, and all of the small milestones along the way. Pricing: ~~~I am offering a free, trial, online lesson for prospective students, who may be interested in online or in-person tutoring. Please reach out if this trial lesson interests you!~~~ Online: I offer online tutoring on a preferred platform (Google meets, zoom, etc) for $65 per hour for students in year 11 & 12, and $55 for year 10 and below. In-person: I am able to take in-person tutoring at public libraries in the local area if that is preferable, at a rate of $70 for year 11-12, and $65 for year 10 and below.
