I recently graduated from St. Andrew’s Cathedral School (SACS) in 2023 and successfully completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, obtaining a flawless aggregate high score of 45/45 (99.95 ATAR equivalent) and thus placing me in the privileged position of being in the top one percentile of students globally. I am starting a Bachelor of Asian Studies at the University of Oxford this October (2024), majoring in Chinese language (Mandarin!) literature, philosophy, politics and history🧧. Acing high school and the IB 🎯: Upon reflecting on my high school journey, I've identified three key components to my academic success: proactive learning, utilizing past exams and question banks for consolidation, and engaging in honest self-reflection. With me at your side during your IB journey, I will utilise these 3 elements to help you navigate the IB and achieve your individual goals. The first style involves me preparing material/content to teach during the lesson (didactic teaching). In the second style, these lessons involve the student bringing a series of questions/queries to ask me (student-directed session). Usually, my lessons can involve a bit of both styles. Outside of lesson time, students can contact me and I will respond to their questions soon as possible. BESPOKE Mathematics Internal Assessment Mentoring📘✨: I successfully completed the most notorious IB internal assessment (the Math IA) in the hardest level of IB math, Analysis and Approaches HL, and obtained an exceptionally high score of 19/20 (𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐀𝐂𝐒 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫), positioning me among the top percentile of IA students worldwide. I help students select an excellent topic for investigation, plan the task and polish their final IA. My students create outstanding explorations that typically involve in-depth research, their individual interests, authentic engagement and real-world application.
