Hi! I’m currently a 3rd-year medical student and completed my HSC in 2022. I tutor the subjects I studied in the HSC, including English, Mathematics, and Biology. My strongest results were: English Extension 1 – 47/50 Mathematics Extension 1 – 94/100 I also scored high Band 5s (85-88) in English Advanced, Mathematics Extension 2, Biology and Chemistry. I understand how challenging the HSC can feel, and my goal as a tutor is to help students build clarity and confidence in the subjects they are learning. My teaching style is patient, practical, and personalised to each student. I focus on understanding where a student is currently at and helping them strengthen their understanding step by step. I find the most effective way to identify gaps in knowledge is by working through questions together in real time. When I see how a student approaches a problem, I can better understand where they may be getting stuck and guide them through the reasoning behind the solution. For subjects like English and Biology, we practise structuring responses to questions and understanding what examiners are looking for. I often show examples of strong answers, discuss why they work, and then guide students as they write and improve their own responses. For Mathematics, I focus on building a strong conceptual understanding first. I often ask students to explain concepts back to me, which helps them recognise what they truly understand and where they may still have questions. We then apply this understanding through exam-style questions, where I guide students with hints and strategies rather than immediately giving answers. I believe students learn best when they are actively solving problems themselves, while I support and guide their thinking. I can help students: - strengthen their understanding of difficult concepts - improve their exam technique and confidence - practise exam-style questions - develop clearer written responses - identify and fill gaps in knowledge I’m also flexible and approachable, and I’m happy to help with marking work or adjusting lesson times when needed.
